Universitets Shotokan Karate
The club was founded in the autumn of 1983 as an activity under Aarhus University Sport.
Its founder is instructor Adrian Arsinevici (7th dan). Adrian has trained karate since 1976 in many European and Asian countries, among them several times in Japan, where he has extended his knowledge regarding the technique, philosophy and historical roots of karate.
New members are enrolled twice a year (February and September). It is not necessary to belong to Aarhus University to train. We enrol children over 10 years old, youngsters and adults (both men and women).
Training covers both the physical and spiritual aspects of karate. Tests (grading) are held twice a year. The club has many black belt instructors who rank from 3rd to 7th dan.
At the national level, the club is affiliated with Dansk Traditionel Karate Forbund (DTKF) and internationally, with The World Shotokan Karate-Do Federation (WSKF) led by Hitoshi Kasuya 8th dan. In cooperation with these, we organize courses, national and international championships abroad.
